Postman Stewart Easey from Great Yarmouth is the winner of the Best Colleague category in our Chairman's Awards for Excellence.

This award is given in memory of Post Office colleague Shyanu Parathasangary, who was killed in the 2005 London bombings, for people who make a difference in the workplace.

Full potential

Stewart, left, was nominated for tirelessly helping his colleagues and his managers out on a daily basis. He stays late and comes in early if anyone needs any support.

He also goes to other units to support the managers there with training, and gets superb feedback from whichever unit he attends.

Even in an unfamiliar office he still does everything he possibly can to support colleagues he doesn't know.

Stewart says: ‘I want to encourage people to reach their full potential and will do anything I can to help them.'

He adds that he was ‘very pleased' when he found out he'd been shortlisted.

‘Just to be nominated was great but to actually have won is a tremendous honour.'
