IDPD 2023

Sunday 3 December marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), aimed at promoting an understanding of disability issues. It aims to mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and wellbeing of persons with disabilities and enables us to reflect on the valuable contributions of individuals with disabilities.

The theme this year is “Transformative solutions for inclusive development: the role of innovation in fuelling an accessible and equitable world”. Whether you are a person with a disability, or an ally, you are encouraged to engage in meaningful conversations about how to build a more accessible and equitable world here at Royal Mail.

You can do so in three ways:

Test your knowledge with a WTLL Quiz

In the spirit of fostering understanding and awareness, we invite you and your teams to test your knowledge about what the Equality Act 2010 says regarding persons with disabilities. We have created a quiz to enable you to discuss these questions with your team.

Join enABLE

EnABLE is our Employee Resource Group for all things Disability, visible or invisible. It is a safe space for anyone interested in disability inclusion, equity, and diversity and provides a community of like-minded colleagues who are all interested in supporting and celebrating all visible and invisible disabilities. You don’t need to have a disability to make a difference, just a passion to contribute, as collectively we can make change happen. Visit the enABLE page on Workplace to find out more.

Attend our Connect and Learn Session

Stay tuned for an upcoming Connect and Learn session on January 22, 2024. This session will delve into the challenges and experiences related to disability in Royal Mail, using insights from the Trust Survey results.

We believe that these conversations can pave the way for a better understanding of the challenges and experiences faced by individuals with disabilities as well as reaffirm our collective commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for everyone.

Let's continue working together to make Royal Mail a place where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
