Four months ago, we began offering customers a Sunday parcel delivery service, in response to growing demand.
Its introduction hasn’t been without its challenges, but tapping into the seven-days-a-week parcel delivery service is benefitting the business with growing volumes.
‘Our work starts coming in at 2am from our customers and they go through our volumetric scanners. Then they have to sort and take it into cross-docking,’ says Tom Sandhu, weekend shift manager at National Distribution Centre.
‘All in all, I think we do about 40,000 to 50,000 items. So it’s just growing.’
