Over the moon
Sunday deliveries are making a big difference to our customers and, ultimately, to our business, writes Paul Smith.
We’re continuing to add more customers who want us to deliver for them on a Sunday, with a seven-day offering a big part of our future strategy as we respond to growing parcel volumes.
Moonpig, the UK’s leading online greeting card and gifting platform, has now appointed Royal Mail to deliver items for them on Sunday. This builds on a long-running and successful partnership.
Tony Bannister, shipping director at Moonpig, says: ‘We have an intelligent operations network that enables us to have the best range and the latest cut off times for personalised cards and gifts anywhere in the market. We continue to work incredibly hard and keep innovating with our partners like Royal Mail to provide an exceptional service to our customers.’
We helped Moonpig to a record Father’s Day this year thanks to our Sunday service, with more than 60,000 gifts and cards delivered as a special occasion.
Colleagues in the North East have used Workplace to give their thoughts on Sunday deliveries – and we’ll be covering it in more detail on RMtv soon, too. Check out this video.
‘It’s something the business needs to go forward to keep up with all the other parcel companies,’ said Durham postwoman Sarah Pritchard.
Chief commercial officer, Nick Landon, explains: ‘We always listen to our customers and Sunday deliveries has been one of the services they have been asking for.’
