Customer compliments

Hats off to our posties: customers are loving you - and your work – again this week

Our customers appreciate the exceptional service you provide – and have been getting in touch to show it. Here’s just a selection of the compliments we have received for our posties over the past week.

‘The postman that usually delivers my mail delivered a parcel to my door this morning. I had a note on my door stating that my household is isolating. He popped the parcel on the doorstep, knocked on the door, stood well back until I opened it to retrieve my item, and then proceeded to ask me how I was doing. Not only that, he then went on to ask if maybe I needed bread and milk and that he was willing to bring me some. Unfortunately, I don’t know his name, but what a lovely man and a credit to Royal Mail. ‘

Mary, East Renfrewshire, Scotland

‘Please pass on my sincere thanks to your employee who was delivering the mail today. My dog had been spooked by a loud machine on a van and ran off up the road. She stopped her van and showed me where he went and offered to help me retrieve him.  In my panic I did not thank her properly for her care and help. It’s the small things that really matter. Thank you. (ps found the dog safe and trembling at my back door!)’

Jane, County Down, Northern Ireland

‘Jonny has been the local postman here since I moved in five years ago. Jonny is always so friendly and makes a point of knowing his customers and going above and beyond. During the height of the pandemic, he contacted his elderly and vulnerable customers to help them with anything they might need, which really was an act of kindness in what was a difficult and worrying time. Jonny is efficient, well-presented, well-mannered and a true gentleman. It’s a pleasure to have such a lovely postman working in the area and I felt this should be recognised.’

Janie, Ayrshire, Scotland

‘I would like to nominate John (surname unknown) for some form of award.  My mum is 90 and lives alone. Whenever he needs to deliver a small package, he always takes time to chat to my mum, see how she is feeling and regularly asks if she needs anything from a local shop that he would willingly go and get for her in his own time. There are other neighbours of a similar age and it appears he regularly chats to all of them and takes time to make sure they are all OK.  He is a pillar of the local neighbourhood.’

Ian, Redbridge, East London

‘I would like to say a big thank you to the postman who delivers my mail. He is a lovely, considerate man who knows my mum isn't able to get to the door quickly and allows time for her to get there to receive the post. I am very thankful to him for taking the time to get to know people on his round and his excellent customer service and for going the extra mile.’
