I come from Newfoundland in Canada and before I joined Royal Mail I was President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post for five years.
I’ve held a number of senior roles across the public sector, working for the Department of Labour, the Privy Council office, the Department of Consumer and Corporate Affairs and later the Office of Federal-Provincial Relations.
I’ve also worked for three of Canada’s largest multinational companies.
At Canada Post I faced many of the same challenges that we have at Royal Mail where transformation was also vital to deal with the sharp decline in volumes.
I am a big supporter of social causes and will use my position to help where I can. During my time at Canada Post I raised awareness of mental health issues to ensure it became a part of the organisation’s vision and commitment to a healthy workplace.
